Depending on the age of your roof it will show signs of deterioration like blistering, cracking in the membrane, or it may start to show staining and begin to grow fungus. These are all warning signs that your roof may be in need of maintenance or replacement.
Yes it is a good practice to keep drainage areas clear from leaves and accumulated debris, flat roofs can last longer if they are well maintained.
Yes, some slope is always recommended to prevent water ponding and premature aging.
One of the most common problems in a flat roof is that there are low spots. Much of this has to do with the fact that there is very little drainage. The water from rain starts to pond onto the various areas of the roof. Over time, the weight of the ponds starts to create low spots. This can cause leaks and various other problems. The only way to overcome the low spots is to fill them in. This will help to keep the roof flat, without any holes to cause ponding and pooling.
Have a good maintenance plan, keep drains clear make sure water is not ponding. As well, there are some refurbishing coatings we offer to help extend roof life.
Every site is assessed individually, we take extra precautions to protect the property and ensure all our work is conducted safely, we use guardrail systems to eliminate fall hazards where applicable, we use a garbage shoot system for higher roof areas to prevent any debris from getting spread out and directs it to the garbage bin. On our torch down roof systems we use materials to make the roof fire proof before we start, there are several applications like this. We also do a 2 hour fire watch anytime there is torching involved using infrared temperature readings.
Yes, there is a lot of flat roof products on the market that very in quality and durability. We only use high quality products with long term testing that are proven to work best in our climate.

Yes. All Magnum employees have all required government certifications, including Working at Heights Training from the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
It means you, the consumer, are paying some company a lot of extra money unnecessarily. There is only one way to install a roof properly. As long as you hire a reputable roofer that employs workers that are skilled in their trade, your roof will be installed correctly. You don’t have to pay an excessive premium for this service. At Magnum Commercial, we pride ourselves on using only the best materials, employing highly skilled tradesmen, and doing the job properly. There is no need to pay an extreme amount of money. We do this at a competitive and reasonable price already.
We cover all of Ottawa and surrounding areas excluding Quebec. We also offer our service outside of Ottawa.
